About Us
Saint Violet is an independent creative studio and publishing project focused on creative practice, long-form thinking, and the material realities of making work.
The studio exists to support artists, writers, and thinkers who are trying to stay in conversation with their ideas long enough to actually finish something—to move from impulse to structure, from intuition to form, from possibility to a real object in the world.
Saint Violet operates at the intersection of creative philosophy and practical tools. The work is grounded in the belief that creativity is a practice shaped over time: by attention, by constraint, by resistance, by care.
Saint Violet was founded by author and multidisciplinary artist Sam Roberts as an extension of a personal creative practice shaped by writing, design, independent publishing, and long-term project work. What began as a way to build better tools for their own work gradually became a shared studio—one that now supports a broader community of creatives navigating overwhelm, fragmentation, and the pressure to produce without direction.
Saint Violet publishes books, workbooks, and studio tools designed to support sustained creative work. These include writing workbooks, planning systems, printed matter, and digital resources that help creatives organize ideas, develop projects, and work through resistance without flattening the work into productivity theater.
Alongside publishing, Saint Violet functions as a studio practice—developing frameworks, language, and structures for creative work that is intentional, self-directed, and rooted in personal vision rather than trend cycles.
